Prefab, Low Carbon Passive House Build: Owner’s Perspective
Join us in Victor, NY (Ontario County) for a rare opportunity to tour a high performance building and hear from the owner’s perspective. Kyle, who is the owner, Architect, CPHC and GC for the project, will shed light on the build process of a high performance home including scopes he has taken on, what he did right, and what he would do differently. As the GC he’ll talk about some of the challenges, unconventional materials/details and how they were performed; design versus reality.
See a high performance project mid-construction. Step on top of a concreteless slab! You may even get to seal a hole with high performance tape courtesy of 475 High Performance Building Supply (depends how good your eye is).

LOGISTICS: Registration is required. Registrants will receive the location after registering. Please arrive at least 15 minutes prior to start time. Parking is limited and car pooling is recommended to reduce site traffic. This event takes place in an active construction site and appropriate footwear is required. Please dress appropriately as the building is temporarily heated, but only to 50 degrees. The presentation will take place inside. Be careful when walking through the house and refrain from touching any loose materials, fixtures or tools without the owner’s permission. If you wish to walk around the exterior, please wait until the end as to minimize the amount of snow tracked into the building.
