Fall Meeting Recap

Thank you to everyone who tuned in for our Fall Quarterly Meeting on September 2. It was great to see over 50 familiar faces, learn from the evening’s sessions, and engage with our colleagues in the passive building industry.

Dan Whitmore, Passive House Consultant at RDH Building Science and PHIUS Board Member, delivered an excellent feature presentation, 10 Years of Passive, which was followed up by three dynamic breakout sessions facilitated by Nick Shaw of 475 High Performance Building Supply, Lillian Maurer and Patrick Murphy of BuildingLogic Inc., and Dan Whitmore on Air Barriers, Navigating Client’s Desires, and Certified Passive House Builder Training respectively.

Thank you to our meeting sponsor 475 High Performance Building Supply. We’re grateful for your support which helped us provide a platform allowing industry professionals to connect and collaborate.

PHA-HV depends on your support. Please reach out to us if you would like to explore the benefits of sponsorship in time for our next Quarterly Meeting on December 9th. We can be reached at info@phiusny.org.

Low Embodied Carbon Concrete Leadership Act

PHA-HV is a proud signatory of the Low Embodied Carbon Concrete Act being championed by the Open Air Collective. Stay tuned for information about how you can get involved in this important initiative. For additional resources and to learn how designers, builders and developers are addressing carbon emissions, check out this blog post from New Buildings Institute.

The Winter Quarterly Passive House Alliance – Hudson Valley Meeting will be held on December 9th from 4-6 PM. Mark your calendars and join us for an update on the Low Embodied Carbon Concrete Leadership Act, to learn about the Slabless Slab, and for an extended virtual networking session.
